Well, we got official papers from NY dated 8-6-08 that showed that all previous judgments etc from Bill's back owed child support had been satisfied. Bill was a little annoyed when he saw the date, as they were supposed to have done it the third week of July and not the first week of August.
On 8-8-08 (if we were Chinese this would be very lucky) Bill received a sort of a rejection letter from the passport agency. They said they could not approve his passport at this time because of back owed child support, but that they would keep his application on file for 90 days. They included phone numbers to contact whichever state you owed child support in. So, Bill spent two days on the phone talking to NY, to TX and to his lawyers in NY trying to see where the hold up was. He said he only got hung up on twice. That's kind of a record for Bill.
Apparently the paperwork was still sitting on someone's desk in NY and they just hadn't found time to file it properly or notify either TX or the passport agency in over a month. Supposedly it will be handled this week.
Bill then called the passport agency and they said they will expedite his passport as soon as they get the notification from NY.
I'll believe it when I see it.
